August Update

Satellite office

On 1 st July 2007 Leech & Co opened their first satellite office in Bath Spa, the address is Queens Square House, Queens Square , Bath , BA1 2LL . The office is approximately 3,000 square foot and is fitted out for 36 staff. The first five staff have been employed and are managed by Rhiannon Rees and supervised by Louise Leckie. The company is currently recruiting for solicitors and fee earners for the satellite office. Emma Leech – Managing Partner

On Saturday 11 th August 2007 , Emma Leech , the managing partner of Leech & Co joined the Phyllis Court women’s crew entered Maidenhead Regatta., The crew comprised of Georgina Jagger (Stroke), Kathryn Coombe, and Joan Bland entered Maidenhead Regatta. They were very kindly encouraged to enter by Lori Hume, who was part of a Maidenhead crew that they were racing. The Phyllis Court crew were in the veteran coxed fours and were ably coxed by Judith Burne.

On the Friday before the Regatta the location of the Regatta was changed from Maidenhead to Dorney Lake . After hiring a boat from Eton College the Phyllis Court ladies were ready to enter the race. However, they were let down by a poor start and unfortunately lost to the Maidenhead ladies by a length or two!

Needless to say the next day the Phyllis Court ’s crews practice racing starts were perfect!

It was a lovely day, despite the result and all enjoyed the Regatta.

Leech & Co night out

In preparation for Zoe's wedding on 1 st, September a night out was arranged at The Birdcage last Friday.

Everyone met for warm up drinks at Hard Rock Cafe about 8.30 pm before moving over to The Birdcage.  After a couple of bottles of champagne and with a few silly drinking vessels the cabaret got underway at 10.00 pm .

A good night was had by all as you will see if you have seen the photos!

Leech & Co Summer Party

The Leech & Co summer do was held at Loaf on Deansgate Locks, on Friday 20 th August 2007 . It was a great occasion for all members of the firm to get together and get to know each other better.

The night started off with a free buffet courtesy of the generosity of Emma Leech & Leech & Co. The buffet was a little bit too early for some of the Leech & Co divas who turned up fashionably late.

All the Partners were mobbed by the employees for free drinks and within a few hours everyone was enjoying themselves and socialising.

The night continued with much merriment and dancing, the Leech & Co outfit moved to the dance floor where Phil Maskrey tried to pull off the 1980's break dancing move known as the ' Running Man. ' As the dancing continued a circle was formed for a dance off between Tom Phillips and Richard Whitehead. It was a scene scarily similar to that of David Starsky and Dancing Rick from the hit movie Starsky & Hutch. Richard Whitehead was the clear winner as he “out robotted” and out-danced Tom all over the dance floor and deserved a standing ovation for his moves.

The night continued with more dancing and drinking into the early hours of the morning and was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion for everyone.
