Meet the Partners
Leech & Co started in 1988 as a 3 partner firm and has steadily grown into an 8 partner firm with four associates and five litigation managers.
The management structure of the firm ensures that there is a strong team ethic within the firm which in turn guarantees that our clients receive the highest quality service.
The word 'partner', used in relation to the company, refers to a shareholder or director of the company or an employee or consultant of the company who is a lawyer with equivalent standing and qualifications.
A list of directors, together with a list of those persons who are designated
as partners, associates and litigation managers, is open to inspection at the
registered office.
Emma Leech
Emma graduated in Law and Politics at Keele University, and set up Leech & Co 20 years ago. Emma is the senior and managing partner of Leech & Co and is a past president and now committee member of the Association of Women Solicitors in Manchester and has been a former member of the Manchester Law Society Council.
Peter Hartley
Peter joined Leech & Co in 1991 after graduating in Law at Sheffield University, following a career in banking. He became a partner in 1995, specialising in personal injury law and runs a team of personal injury lawyers. A fervent supporter of Liverpool FC, Peter is married with 2 children.
Andrew Dow
Andrew graduated with a Law degree from Newcastle University in 1991 and qualified
as a solicitor in 1994 with Leech & Co. Since 1998 he has been a partner
at this practice, managing a team of personal injury specialists. Andrew specialises
in injuries suffered as a result of motor cycle accidents as well as high value,
complex and catastrophic injury cases, recovering damages in excess of £1
million. Andrew is also charged with responsibility for the smooth running of
IT within the firm.
Joyce Morgan
Joyce studied French History & Law at Bournemouth University. A very experienced
lawyer, Joyce qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and joined Leech & Co in
1988. Currently Joyce specialises in personal injury resulting from road traffic
accidents.
Louise Leckie
Louise studied Psychology at the University of Kent and joined the firm in 1994. She has progressed from trainee solicitor to partner with the firm. Louise now heads up one of our RTA teams and has special responsibility for complaints handling within the firm.
Matthew Connery
Having studied History at the University of Liverpool and retraining in Law, Matthew joined Leech & Co in 1997 as trainee solicitor. On qualifying as a solicitor in 1999, Matthew rapidly rose up the ranks to become partner in May 2002. Matthew also leads a team of personal injury experts.
Adrian Sherlock
Adrian qualified as a solicitor in April 1990 and gained several years experience in general practice before deciding to specialise in Personal Injury claims 12 years ago. A member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel for several years, Adrian is also a longstanding member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). He is a keen football fan and enjoys weekly games of five-a-side as well as being a dedicated Blackburn Rovers season ticket holder. Adrian joined Leech & Co in September 2003 and became a Partner in September 2006.
Tim Shaw
Having graduated from Oxford University with a degree in law, Tim initially
worked in the field of employer liability accidents, before specialising in
complex and catastrophic personal injury claims recovering damages in excess
of £1 million. He joined Leech & Co in 2001 and heads a team of personal
injury lawyers. He became a partner in September 2006.
